I've been shooting Cabela's SST 220's and since they were discontinued by Cabela's some years ago, I'm about to run out. I need to find some skinny carbons like the SST 220's. I need a light spine because I'm shooting 48# @ 27 inches.
I have the SST 220's cut to 28 inches with 225 gr tips and they fly great and penetrate like crazy. That is why I'm looking for something simular.
I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, John

How would I find his address to pm him?

GO to the directory, type in Barry Wensel, and it will pull him up, and you can send him a PM from there.
Thanks,
Tim

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

I shot Beman Carbon Flash for years. Still have a couple left I think. I know a lot of folks didn't like them, but I had great luck. Unbelievable penetration. Last I cheked, Lancaster Archery still had them for a real good price. You are somewhat limited by the outserts and over-nocks.
We are all here because we are not all there.

I have a half dozen shafts with the outserts like that. They are marked AFC bear/jennings max-5 2400.I have no idea what spine that equals too and they are 32 1/2 inches long and have the knocks and screw on outserts if they will do you any good. They shoot great but wont fit any quivers i have.

The sst's are a great shaft. I've got about 5 doz 360-16 beman shafts that are the same spine as the 220 sst's. Think I'm short on the outserts and nocks though. If you're interested shoot me a pm and I'll see what I've got.

Thanks guys. Check your pm's.  John

those pultruded outsert type shafts can be tough to find and in the long run you may be better off with an easier to find (and probably more durable, consistent and easier to tune) insert shaft like a beman ics bowhunter 600 or 500.  you just will have more options with insert shafts for nocks and points, and the overall shaft quality/durability is better.  i originally used carbon flash for my daughter's bows and since have moved on over to the ics 600's - so much better.  just a thought ...

Rob, I think I just might give those a try. Thank you for the suggestion.  John

Hey John. I have some GT 35/55's that I think will be right up your ally. Let me know if you want to try one and I'll get it to you. I'll probably be up dads soon and I can drop one off. Shoot me a PM and let me know.

Mike, thanks for the offer. I tried to send you a pm but it wouldn't go through for some reason. Hope you have a great season.  John
