Best Seating in a Blind?

I recently purchased a Baronette Big Mike Blind. 80" center height.  My recurve and LB still touch the top as I prefer to make a standing shot but will have to sit. I have looked at several swivels seats on the market: Quake ATS; Hunter Hank swivel seat and American Mold's Duck & Deer swivel seat.  Now the question, anyone have any recommendations on a good seat for shooting and sitting for a long length of time in a blind (with a back rest)?  I'm thinking it should be a swivel, should have a back-rest, and should be able to be adjusted to a window height in the blind (36"+/-)and the price should be reasonable.  I would appreciate any experiences you all have with any products out there.

Hunt More Chair....not sure about the price....it cost a bit...but is good quality.

You can get a flip up seat(has back support and but support) for a john boat(out of cabelas) that has a swivel base and bolt it to a 5 gallon bucket.I have used these for duck hunting blinds in the past.

I bought a chair from sportsman's guide that has all of that & like $40. I love it but I have it in a permanent blind. The chair is 19lbs so not mobile.

Save some $$$ and buy a Huntmore, you will not be disappionted. Best hunting chair out there.

I bought two of these chairs. The material seems good, but the craftsmenship leaves a lot to be desired. One of the chairs has a permanent large tilt back. In order to fix, I would have to removes welds and reweld. I could sent it back, but at 19 pounds, no thanks.

I mounted a swivel bucket seat for a boat to the lid of a 7 gallon bucket. Just the right height.

Thanks for the responses boys....I like that Huntsmore, its the price that's killin me.....I have some thinkin to do....of course sitting for hours in a blind on a bad seat might just have made my mind up for me......

Inside my Ameristep Brickhouse blind I sit in a coleman camp chair. With practice you will figure out where to put it for the most room. I go to me knees when game comes by for the shot although I have killed a couple Turkeys sitting. I also have a double Bull 3 legged chair its good for a few hours but the camp chair is good for all day.RC

Thanks RC. As as matter of fact I was looking at the double bull 3 legged stool today.  Looks very similar to the huntmore chair, just no swivel.  Still figuring...the main issue is my lower back, need that lumbar support....will check out the coleman camp chair...

I don't know what you use to transport your blind, but the Magnus Rack Pack is a pretty nifty carrying system and it also converts into a pretty nice blind chair, including a backrest and head rest. It's the easiest method I've found to transport my double bull blind, plus you never have to worry about leaving your chair behind. It's easy and quick to convert to the chair and it's pretty comfortable too.

Here's a laugh for you. We've had a child's wooden straight-back chair in the garage for years. Took it out to the blind with me and sat down - really comfortable and perfect height. About that time the back legs punched through the top layer of decayed leaves and I went right over backwards. Didn't retain much of the coffee in my cup and lost 100% of what little dignity I had left.

I took a $5 boat seat ball bearing swivel and mounted a round plywood seat and mounted the whole thing on a 5 gal bucket .

I can live without a back to lean on and the price is right . I made the top so you can still take it off and store items in the bucket

The Huntmore is a good seat. Well built, adjustable legs, swivel seat, very comfortable. But, it is heavy and pricey

I've had a back operation and can't sit very long so a few years ago my wife got me the most comfortable seat I ever sat in...Some will say it's alot of money and that's one thing I haven't much of but I see folks spend lots of money on bows,arrows,quivers,broadheads,clothing,exotic hunts and so on but whenever someone mentions the "Huntmore 360 seat" the first thing I read is about the money and the weight...Well I got one and what time I do sit in it I got to tell ya it's Very much worth the investment my wife paid for it...I haven't seen to many seats built to last like the Huntmore...I hunt within a mile from my parking area but I could lug it further if I had too...The company is awesome and has sent me updated hardware such as bigger adjustment knobs and a quick strap clip...When I look at every piece of the Huntmore 360 I break it down it thinking lets see it cost about this much to make this part and about that much to make that part...When I think of the price it took to make it etc. I think well I got my money's worth and then some...I have sat in it for a 4 hour sitting one time and that's what I was looking for in a seat...When I sit in a reguler stand I must move or get up about every 20 mins to adjust my seat and that isn't good....If you are like Mike Mittin who sent me a responding Private message a few years ago about the seat he said he got his Dad one cause he couldn't stay seated very long and Mike wanted to spend more time with his dad on Hunts...Well he got one and Mike has one that he used as his computer chair trying it out...Maybe it's not the chair for a long mountainous hike or for any one who likes to move from spot to spot often but I will say this..If you want to stay put and comfortable and get by with the price you will like the seat...I look at it as an investment and if it's set up in my shop that's the seat my buddy or girls will fight over to sit in...God Bless,Keefers <><
