I've got a rancho safari ghillie and need some ideas on how to get the burlap smell out of it.  Or does it make a difference?  I tried airing it out on the line for a week, but it didn't help.  Should I wash it in something?  Thanks...
I'm getting more dangerous all the time...

There are lots of threads on this subject. Mine I do nothing with, it doesn't seem to bother them. There is a gentleman that goes by the name of "iron bull" on here and he drags his behind his 4 wheeler, buries it, ect.... The more they look " used", the better they are.

Doh...  Added the word smell to the search and found everything I needed.  Sorry for the hassle..

I have had mine for 10 years. I have buried it, left it hanging outside for at least 2 years, smoked it, sprayed it with a gallon of scent away, put tons of dirt cover sprays on it, still has a faint smell of burlap. I dont think you can totally get rid of it.

I kind of like the smell of burlap in the morning. ;-) Having used it a few times now, my biggest complaint, and it's a small one, is that the hat muffles noise and reduces your ability to pick up small noises.

I've had mine for 15 years. It still smells like burlap. The animals don't mind the smell as far as I can tell.

Walked by a guy in a gillie once (statue) at a vendors row once with my wife, she stated "boy, sure stinks like burlap around here!" It was Gerry Gentallali in disquise!
