Does arrow Dia cause any tuning issues?

I'm interested in some Victory Vap shafts that are very small in diameter but with being new to traditional archery, I'm not sure if its a bad move getting this small of shaft.

The only problem would be if the bow is cut too far past centershot for the small diameter arrow, and that is easily fixable.

When you're shooting with a finger release, you want the strike plate adjusted so the arrow lies a little outside of centershot.  To check this, hold the bow in front of you with an arrow mounted on the string, so that you're looking down the arrow with the string bisecting the limbs of the bow.  There may be mounting screws or something marking the center of the limbs so you can tell that the string is bisecting the limbs, or if not, you can put pieces of white adhesive tape on the top and bottom limbs and mark the center of the tape.  Looking down the arrow, the arrow tip should be just outside the string.  If the arrow tip is behind the string, or inside the string, then you need to build up the strike plate a little until the arrow tip is just outside the string.

I have always enjoyed tuning smaller diameter shafts and firmly believe in their penetration enhancing qualities. However, it would be wise to read the threads on this site regarding bare shaft tuning.

Skinny arrows can certainly be tuned, as McDave sez. The "real" issue would be if you're changing arrow diameters from something larger. Don't take your state of tune for granted. It should be rechecked and adjusted accordingly as it will change.

As stated,if you are going from larger diameter shafts that you have tuned,it will definitely change tune as the center of your shaft will move further left for a right hand shooter. Also do a search on that shaft.I believe people have been complaining about breakage around those pin inserts. If that's true,it could be an expensive experiment.

Bemans have a good reputation for durability and are skinny though not as skinny as the VAP's.
