Michigans season starts tomorrow morning, and I just put together my "kinda" traditional lunch for tomorrow. My Dad and I did this on my first opening day, 36 deer seasons ago. We did it with beef that year, but the meal in the pic is about 1/2 a backstrap, some potatoes, onions, and carrots. Olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic. I will put this in a fire (wrapped in foil) about 10:00 tomorrow morning. I have all day to hunt tomorrow, nothing else to do   :clapper:   but a touch too windy. Oh well, we hunt on the days we can, right?

Good luck all, be safe, shoot straight!

Good luck Michigan brothers! I dont know that even Christmas eve rivals this day.
Roger- Are you in the UP for the opener?

West Virginia starts in the morning. This year our season starts 2 weeks earlier than it ever did. About time.

Thanks guys. Yep, The Armstrong Ghost will be in the tree with me. My opener starts down here, southern Michigan. We have a little chunk near Howell. LOTS of deer. Some real good ones. I won't get up to the UP until middle of the month. LaClair and I are heading up to ShrewHaven sometime around the 15th.

I usually kinda hang back early in the season, and pass up a bunch. But this year I have the itch. 2 boys in college stealing my venison might have something to do with that. I have a feeling the first mature doe who isn't paying attention might get it...  :)

Cool thread...

I hope EVERYONE feels the way we do at my house.
The opener for our regular archery season is special to say the least.

This year, there will be three predators heading out with three Predators.   :D

Good luck everyone...

As for me, a trophy deer is one that is broadside, unaware, and twelve yards away.

I`ll say it again...good luck everyone.  :campfire:

Exactly Don! I am not picky either.
