I'd prefer a longbow. But if the price is right, I might buy one.

What specs are you looking for RangerCD ?  draw poundage etc.

Go with an ilf setup. You have so much room to grow and improve gear.

Well, I wanted a right handed bow with 60# and had a draw length of 28-30.

I got a beautiful custom bow from Tony at white wolf custom bows for my first custom. There are a million different color combos to choose from.  I got a model called the Long hunter, it was $350. Shoots great and looks great.

You can pick up a used Martin Savannah for less money that that. You will have a great shooting bow, and money left over for arrows. You can sometimes get a used Morrison Dakota or Cougar for about that also. Just be a little patient, and you will find a good deal.
If it's in your way, move it.
