So I am struggling with the design for my next bow that I am going to have a friend build for me (I'll give you his name after I'm done ordering, I don't want everyone else getting in front of me after seeing his fine work).

I have some old blanks and am trying to decide on which to use in the bow. Right now my options are:
black and white ebony with narra curving through the center
ziricote with narra through the middle
black and white ebony with ziricote through the middle
or toss in redheart at any point in there...

So many options. I would like to do the first but I'm not sure how well the narra will go with the black and white ebony. Does anyone have pictures of bows with B&W ebony?

Thanks for the input!

Deciding on woods is a pain in T_E A_S

They all look good, but you gotta like the way it shoots......

This post brings me back a few years....

Yeah, I have owned 3 of this gentleman's bows and all have shot incredibly well.

I tell ya I saw a nice combo, Micasser Ebony that had some good blonde streams all through it. For yhe limb veneers, any wood that looks like zebra wood or striped marblewood, talk about contrast, one mirrors the other. Black glass/micarta tips/accents and POW,
Morrison Archery has some great pics of all kinds of Ebony. Good Luck picking one.

I love Macassar with lots of brown streaking.
