Yesterday I had worked all day on tractors, and bushoging 3 fields and some areas I hunt. After supper and a shower, was getting late, about 8:45 so wife and I drove around the local roads to 5 small woodlots, and crp type fields looking for deer, all within 1 mile either way from my house. Wow, the deer were every where, every lot we saw had 4-5 deer and 3 nice bucks, as wide as their ears. All were mud fat. I got back to the house about 9:10, and got my bow out, wife commented it was too late to shoot, but I told her I had shot a lot of deer right at twilight. I could see my 3D target in the corner of some woods set up, so I shot 8 shots, all in the kill from 20-30yds. I pulled my arrows and it was gettin late, barely could see the outline, but I shot 6 more. All thumped into the foam target. I couldn not see any of the arrows on target, or my arrow on the bow as I drew, just concetrated on where I wanted the arrow to go, kinda listened to the hits and aimed there. I went to pull them, all 6 were in the back half of the kill, my palm covered them. I shot these between 20-25 yds. Now I felt like these shots were truly instinctive, no aware of the arrow, split vision, just too dark. I felt better about those last 6 arrows, than any I had shot for a long time. I have experimented with several techiniques over this spring and summer, and was just getting burnt out. Went back to what worked before, and made me say  Duuh, if it aint broke dont fix it. Just thought I would share.

I have been trying to do the same here myself. I feel that am shooting the best I have ever shot and it seems to get better every day with out over trying or thinking things, just hard shooting with major confidence!!! You can really build on confidence shot after shot which makes for a great shooting session. My 8 yr old boy was out there with me this evening shooting and was ready to call it quits  because the skeeters were working him over. Well I wouldn't let him quit till he shot 2 of his 4 arrows and finished feeling good about it, it worked, he had to bear down and he did it.
