I'm working on getting a Trad Archery Goose for this November. I have a few places I have to check out, but work to know if I could get a group of 10 (Counting Myself) to do this hunt.

From the places I'm talking with. Looks like it would be about $225.00 per Archer and that will cover lodging. There is a $5.00 charge per bird to have it breasted out.

If You would like to get in on this, Please let Me know.. I can't do anything till I have a group. Also this would be in Texas hunting the Garwood and Eagle Lake prairies area. This area is known for Goose hunting.

Any idea how they hunt...pit blinds, layout blinds, pass shooting, etc?

**DONOTDELETE**

I'll ask them, I did tell them that ditches or close to tree line and maybe around some big hay rolls.. I'm trying to put it together. The outfitter never did a bow goose hunt.

This will be their first and hopefully we can do this Yearly. I will also find out about using pop-up blinds and shooting as they land.

I'm definitely interested. Will watch for more information. Sounds like a blast.

This is how they set-up for shotgun, But I think Archers could do the same...

We usually hunt over between 600-1000 windsocks, and either use backrests to lean against or we hide against the rice levys or a ditch. We make sure to put a good number of windsocks around each hunter to help stay concealed. The best chance is when everyone is below the height of the windsocks. We also all put on big white parkas to stay hidden and blend in with the spread.

Put me on the list as a possible.  Here is a pic of a Jersey goose that came into my dekes.  I popped up out of a small pit blind and shot him in the air as he was lifting.

You guys will have a blast with all those Snow Geese.  If I wasn't going be in Texas hunting hogs and exotics this November, I would be all over it.  Bird hunting with a bow is the ultimate hunting to me, actually hunting anything with a stick bow is the ultimate hunt now that I think of it.  Just look at my avatar.  That was one of the top 3 hunts I have ever been on.

Have fun, although, I probably didn't have to say that.

I can't make a commitment but a goose hunt with my longbow has been roaming around in my mind for a couple of years now.

If I can figure out how to make it work, we have plenty of geese right here in Missouri.

I hope you get a hunt worked and and pull it off as I'd love to read about it and see some interesting photos.

God bless,Mudd

Is this for snow or honkers?  One day or possible additional days?

Sal, make sure you find out how long the hunts are. I hunted geese with an outfit in the great salt plains who pulled the plug on the hunts after only about 3 hours.

**DONOTDELETE**

I'll email them and ask how many hours the hunt would be before and when I asked about getting wings He replied with all geese,  Specklebelly, snow, Canada. So from that I'm guessing these would be the geese We would be going after.

I'll email Him and double check.. Any other questions I should ask for? If there is I'll email Him when I get home from work Today.

**DONOTDELETE**

They only hunt from 30minutes before Sunrise to 9:30 - 10:30 AM.
