Hey guys, I had a string jig given to me so I can make endless loop strings. I know how to make the strings but I have gotten conflicting info on string length, If I have a 60" bow how long does the string need to be?

Normally 4" shorter for a recurve and 3" for a longbow.

i would recommend making up some kind of a string that will allow you to string your bow at the desired brace height and then measure this string. i just had strings made after calling black widow for the right length and they missed by an inch

this way you will be right on with no guessing.

Kenny, what kind, and make bow is it? That would help us who have a similar type!

Having a tillering string, with an adjustable timber hitch, would help! But alot of new archers have trouble with them!

The bow is a 60in Bear Kodiak, I just bought it at Cloverdale, it had a string that was for a 62in bow with it

I'd probably make a 56 1/2" string for that bow.
