I have lost a few arrows lately,  breaking off right at the glue on point. I was thinking about footing them with old aluminum but didn't have any the right size.
Has anyone here ever tried using shrink tube and if so, what did you think?

Reparrow works great for breaks at the point! Google and search this site.

I'll second what Bjorn said.
