My new bow should be here tomorrow, YAY!, I will post pics when it comes    :)    It is 44# my draw is 28". Tony at White Wolf, the guy who made the bow, recommended size .500 carbon arrows with 150g points, said that he got the best results with them. Well, my local shop is out of that size, and it will be a while before they come in! I have some 60-65 woodies, and some .400 carbons both are cut to 30".

I was curious if anyone had suggestions on where I should start as far as point weight on the woodies and 400 carbons so I can try out my new bow a bit before the proper size arrows come in to the shop.

All the charts I find vary so much, I'm not sure what to trust.

Edit: the bow is cut 1/8 past center.

Shinken

I would start with 200-250 gr on the 400 carbons and that should get you in the ballpark - if the carbons  were full length I'd even had said that you were - good to go.

For the woodies 125 gr field tips should work well.

Enjoy!

Shoot straight, Shinken

That sounds pretty close on the carbons,at least for a starting point.I was going to say a 225 gr point.

Thanks guys! I actually have some 125g glue on tips on hand.  Finding a 225g+ for the carbons might not happen around here.

Lighter bow + stiffer arrows = heavier head for sure.

At 30", the woods may not be to far off depending on how the shelf is cut.  You can always put on a heavier head.  If you have access to a spine tester, you can sand down the middle third of the shaft and easily lose 5lbs.

I have a $200 store credit  ;)  also they are only $40 for 6. Not a bad price, imo.

I was thinking like JParanee, but that's a great reason to wait for your shop.
