Does urethane add spine/stiffness to arrow shafts?

Hello,
I'm using spruce and fir arrow shafts and sealing them with Helmsman spar urethane. Will finishing arrows cause them to gain spine? And will more coats add more stiffness?

I have a very precise spine tester I made with a dial depth gauge, so I can run a test, but was just wondering if any of you had experience in this area?

Thanks!.... Ken

Not in my experience however multiple coats will add weight.Helmsman spar urathane is my favorite sealer for arrows.

Good to know!  Weight is not a consideration, when I'm talkin' overall weight of 575 grains.  Not usin' sights,, so I'll adjust.

Thanks!,,, Ken

No. At one point, I even tried a double dip soaking with source chemicals to react and create the polyurethane inside the shaft, but it made no difference in spine.

For some reason I can't remember what chemicals I used...

Now that's a good comment if I ever saw one!  :)
