How many strands of B55 are recommended for a 61# longbow?

I might even go 14. I made a 14 strand for a #65 I own. No problems so far.

I would go with a 14 strand for 61# bow,I shot a 14 strand on a 63# Hill I had with no problems.

I'd go with 14 also, mainly to reduce stretch/creep.

Rob DiStefano

i'd go with a minimum of 14 strands, maybe 16 - dacron is stretchy stuff, even with the "new and improved (?)" b55.  better yet, ditch the old school dacron and go hmpe for any modern or self stick bow.

I like 12-14 for B-55, you can go 16 but I don't think you need to!
