I'm now fully rooted here, outside of lacomb, to the SE, OR.   I have miles and miles of weyerhauser roads out my back door it seems.

Where can a guy go around here to get good maps?land usage/ownership maps, all the trails and roads, etc.   Also, is there a current gps program out there with that info?

Saw a couple of cows this morning a half mile from the house!  lots of deer around here too.   and my wife already swears shes heard at least one sasquatch.

Good times.  a great place you all have here!  thanks in advance, dan

I had the Topo software on the old computer that had pretty good info on all the road systems in the west. I think it was 4.0 and I know they are above 7.0 now.
Most everyone is using the gps maping stuff now.

Ownership is most likely county by county and is pretty spendy softwear. You might have to check your county courthouse.

I think I dated a sasquatch once.

Welcome Dan!

Now that you are settled, you should look some of us up that belong to the Traditional Archers of Oregon.  Here is a link to their website    Traditional Archers of Oregon  and a link to the Traditional Archers of Oregon website on TradGang    TradGang Oregon Tradtional Archers   You might try a post down there on the Oregon site to see if you get any more response.  I know a lot of the folk that post there regularly live in pretty much this part of the state.

I have had good luck getting Willamette National Forest maps at the USFS Offices in the area.  There is one in Sweet Home (that I have never been to, so I can't tell you much about that one), and one in Springfield (which I have been to and bought 3 or 4 useful maps from).  I have been to some of the others in the area, and there are some nice maps to be had.  And some of them are worth a visit just because the architecture is really nice.  Here are a couple links that might be helpful.     Willamette National Forest maps  and    Office locations

Check out the Traditional Archers of Oregon calendar    TAO Calendar  It has all the events coming up.  The Western States is next month (which I am going to miss), and the Pope & Young shoot is in Brownsville (not to far from you) in the last week of July (already got some vacation approved for this one).  If you come to the Pope & Young, look up the folks from The Adventurous Bowmen club in Eugene.  A bunch of us always camp together.

Ill likely hit the salem blm office soon, and of course the nat forest office.

I am hoping to get a weyerhauser map our something along those lines to see where all the logging lands are, etc.

IMO the best hunting maps for WA and OR are the BLM surface management maps. They show every kind of accessible public land, especially the hard to find BLM land and state forests, plus all the usual roads, rivers, lakes, contours etc. They're $5 for the big wall maps. (I had one of Oregon and one of Washington laminated (which was the spendy part) and they're both hung up on the walls and covered in grease pencil notes.) And they're $4 for smaller sectionals. Check it out:

Where is Lacomb, Oregon? Is it down near Burns Junction, Rome, Jordan Valley? Or is it more south central Oregon, like near Lakeview?

I use Delorme TOPO 9.0 and can print up as many topo maps as I like. For $99 it can pay for itself just printing 10 maps.

Welcome Elkbreath!   :wavey:

Lacomb looks to be a bit NE of Lebanon.......way east and south of Hebo.   ;)

The Pope and Young shoot at the end of this month is minutes south of you in Brownsville, Or!!!!

Do a search for ARCGis and you'll find a lot of mapping options.
