I made a commitment to myself this year that I would not carry a shotgun in the woods during turkey season (BOW ONLY).

I plan on using a blind and have been practicing diligently in my basement shooting out of it.

My question would be, I know from my wheelie days that it was ok to shoot through the "mesh screening" of the blind. I will be using Magnus two blade broadheads as well as a string tracker. Is it ok to shoot through the mesh with that set up or should I remove the mesh. Just wanted to see if any others had any experience with this?

Thanks,
Josh

I shoot right through the mesh and don't have any problems. I think it makes it a little harder to focus on spot sometimes.

Why not give it a try.  Would hate not knowing if and when the time comes.

Killed several turkeys shooting through mesh. I have never used a string tracker. I would follow the advise above and do a test run.

Not sure if your string tracker will work through the mesh. I hunt with open windows and the birds haven't really been bothered, but it may be that they recognize me as the guy that keeps missing them!

I've heard that turkeys don't mind the open windows and deer do mind. If they are open stay in the dark , not up close to the window.

Shooting through the mesh is fine as I shoot stone tips thru the mesh.  If you decide not to use the mesh for turkey be sure to ware black, cover the bow in black, shoot dark arrows, and use a black face mask.  The general rule on when to and when not to use the mesh are, if hunting turkey you can use or not use the mesh and ware black. If hunting deer ware black and use the mesh.

Never open other windows as this will silhouette you.  Try this, have someone sit in the blind waring black with the mesh up and down but no other windows open.  Then get in front say 30 yards and I am sure you will only see black in the blind.  But if you open any other windows you will now see the person silhouette in the blind even if the mesh is down.
