I have been trying to shoot a recurve off and on for over a year now and just can't shoot it as good as a RD long bow.  Got frustrated and pulled out my lee stick and put three in a tea cup @15 and busted a nock, on my first string of three.  Guess I will have to stick with the stick.

Not everyone can take the easy way out. good to have you back on the longbow.   :goldtooth:

So, what's wrong w/hybrids to make you shoot a recurve? Dance w/her who brung ya! There is some tempting recurve eyecandy running loose though. Glad you're back stickshooter.

Sounds like you've come to terms with the trad gods, you're a skilled guy to shoot a longbow so well. . I WISH I could shoot a longbow, but I'm a curve guy.

If it ain't broke don't fix it! It's good to try new things and break new ground...but it's great to come back to what works for you. Sounds like you have a perfect match. Don't get weak in a careless moment and ever sell that bow, you will regret it. Try and buy new bows recurves or longbows, there may be other good matches out there, but always keep this bow that you shoot so well. You will always have a friend in it. I sold a favorite bow once and I have always regretted it.

Daz

I have the Howard Hill belief that i'm just not a good enough shot to use a recurve. Love my longbows!

Hey tradshooter, can i quote your post when my wife starts eyeing up my bow rack and wondering why it has no spaces in it...?   :D

Enjoy what works for you!

Cyclic-Rivers

Some people shoot what they like, some people shoot what works.

I like that its both the same bow for me.

Good for you.  Ship me that nasty 'ol recurve and I'll see to it that it never bothers you again.     :archer:

Most of it is in how you hold the bow for each type of handle..
