Wow, I can't believe you guys have had good luck with Pronghorns. My friends and I have never had a pair that didn't leak.  Although I've never had problems with Danners made that were made in America.  But that said my favorite are Kennetreks.

I am a Danner Pronghorn fan. wear them with lite to medium wt. wool socks and a pair of goretex gatiers, for when it gets real wet. Use good leather dressing like the one that Whites boot co. puts out. I have made seven trips to colorado, and these boots are still good to go. PS I have climed all over the maroon bells and the mesa delta and I just can't figure out how you guys do it in rubber boots,I just can't imagine doing it.

Dry out your boots at night with chemical handwarmers (the ones you actually light).  Dry boots every morning!    :bigsmyl:

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.
