I have a recurve that I purchased new back in 2003. I have for the most part been a longbow fan. However there was just something about the way the grip of this recurve fit my hand that I had to purchase it. One of the limbs split while a friend was using it that year for elk hunting. I now have the bow in my possesion again and would like to have limbs made for it. Here is my question. Are there bowyers that can build a set of limbs ,or do I have to go through the original bowyer? Thanks

I would recoomend that you contact Mike at 'MadDogBows.com'.

He does excellent repair work.

If it is a big company name brand the original bowyer will be able to match it up the best. His jigs for drilling the holes will be the same.

The extent of the limb damage is really beyond fixing.

Your best bet would be to go back to the original bowyer.

Talked to Mike at Maddog. Bow is heading west to see what can be done.
Thanks for the recommendation Jarhead_Hunter.

It'll be a 14 week wait.

CJ, are you having recurve or longbow limbs made?
"If I had tried a little harder and practiced a little more, by now I could have been average"...Me
