As I have often mentioned, I like using different broadheads for different animals.

My favorite for black bears is the 160 grain Snuffer. They sharpen well and spin true... but for adding weight to my cedar hunting arrows, as well as increasing the F.O.C.  a little, I sure would like them a little heavier.

Will Snuffer ever come out with a heavier head? In the meantime, what sort of adapters have any of you been using on wood or other types of swaged shafts?

Also, to experiment, I purchased a pack of 3 woodsman elite 190 grain 3 blade. The cutting diameter is not huge but the real problem was that it was difficult and in some cases impossible to get the 190 grain model to spin perfectly true. Anyone else have this problem?

To add weight try Woodyweights, they come in weights as low as 75gr, and heavier than 100gr! I also love the 160 Snuffer for bear, turkey and deer, but for elk im opting for a tough 2 blader!

Big Jim has a great 3 blade that 250 glu on I believe. I use the internal footing jig on my wood to get the point weight up.

they have 160gr 190gr and 250gr Glue On 3 blades

They are machined out of a solid piece of high grade tool Steal, tempered and teflon coated.

Ken, the Snuffer broadhead line is for sale so I wouldn't expect anything new on that front.

The Woody Weights and Internal Point Jig that were both mentioned are two options that work well and you can make the wide variety of available and affordable heads "heavy" in that manner.  We have Woody Weights available from 75 grains to a whopping 200 grains.

Trad Gang sponsor 3Rivers Archery carries the Internal Point Weight Jig.

The Woodsman Elite/VPA glue on's that were also mentioned are definitely top quality heads and worth a look.

If you like the 160 Snuffer you need to check with Big Jim (Sponsor), he's got a 250 grain glue on that is 1 1/2" cut... Sounds like just what you are looking for.

Ken, If you're having trouble with your spin testing, then I'd look at your tapers bud.

As far as heavier three blades, there's never been more on the market than now. As well as Big Jim's wide 250 glue-on, VPA makes the 190 you have now and also a 250 glue on.

Woody weights and internal footing will add weight to your existing set-up.

I stand corrected.I didn't realize Big Jim had the 250 gr glue on also. That is very interesting.I have a couple setups that could work for.

Thank you very much all!

You have given me more options than I thought I had.
