Wanting to try my hand at making a leather back quiver, and had a question. How heavy do I need the leather to be to make a durable quiver? Or what is best?

I would use no lighter then a 7oz. It would be better to use a 8 to 9 oz weight.

That depends on a couple of things. DO you want a stiff quiver then use heavy leather. Your arrows will move around a lot. Some like a thinner leather so it collapses on the arrows so they don't move around much. Will you be putting a fur lining in it? That helps stiffen a thin one up, muffles sound and helps keeps arrows from moving all over. You can put a strap in your quiver to help hold arrows in place. If your just using it for practice then heavy and open will serve you fine.

Thanks for the responses. Guess I didn't think all the options through. Thinking I will look for 6 or 7 and add a liner.
