Pronghorn Bows?

Mine is great!  Bought from a fellow 'Ganger and it won't be leaving my side.  It was built as a workhorse and I use it as intended.  I doubt you'll be disappointed if you buy one.

I picked up a new Pronghorn Longbow about two months ago just so I could go shoot the Longbow Safari in July of this year, it is now the only bow I shoot I call Norm at Blacktail Bows and cancel my order because I am getting another Pronghorn. So now to the good stuff I shoot 62"52@28 it draws smooth as silk and NO HAND SHOCK and once you get the arrows figured out she will shoot were you look I can group bare shaft with my fletched arrows out to 50 yards, she like Easton Axis 500, I have found some woods arrow that are working for me now just got to work some small things out first (i.e making Footed shafts). Life is good for this Longbow hunter >>>----->.

The grip seems narrow to me. not uncomfortable but fits very nice. It is very quiet and spits an arrow more than fast enough, I have shot faster bows that were just as quiet though, the sapphire hawk and the new stalker longbow come to mind, Pronghorn as a large following and for good reason they are very good bows,

I bought mine from Wyoming Chief off here after my #1 bow broke well into bow season. I got in the mail in the morning, tried three different shafts during the day, used the ones I had the most of as they all shot good from it. Went out that evening and killed a doe. That was three years ago and I've killed over ten deer with it now.

Loved seeing all the pics and reading all the comments on an obviously well thought of bow...this should influence anyone searching for a great bow.

other than the fact its a recurve are there any noticeable differences in grip, "shootability", weight with his recurves vs. longbows

Someone who has both care to comment which ones they like better?

Both grips are the same, pretty much, except the Ferret's grip is slightly larger. I like them both, but shoot my longbows now most of the time.

FYI, Herb will not build any more recurves.  :(

I had a three piece all osage and a one piece curly maple riser and elm lams. The grip on the one piece was more narrow and the distance from back to belly was greater than that of the take down. I liked the one piece grip much better. It pointed better for me.

It was still 4 months when I put my order in  December.

Herbs bows are well worth any wait time involved.

Many years ago, after finally hanging up my compound from frustration, I went a month without shooting an arrow.  A good friend of mine came over with a Pronghorn and said lets have some fun.  I ordered one that evening and have been hooked on Traditional Archery every since.
