If you shoot the 2013 aluminum, can you tell me your setup...such as bow weight and draw length?   :help:

This little arrow seems ideal for someone with a 28-30" draw who shoots bows around 40#.   :wavey:

Prairie Drifter

I shoot them out of my mid to high 40#s bows. Arrow is 27" long and I use 200 to 225gr points. They are just a little stiffer than 1916's.

Killdeer

28" arrow, 145-175 grain head, recurve or hybrid longbow, 46# @ 26.5" (string to deepest part of grip).
Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

Stiffer than a 1916?

Does it fall between the 1916 and 2016?  If so, it sounds like a great one for those bows around 50#.

Killdeer

YES.
Or, try a 2016 with a heavier head.

2016 with a heavier head as Killy said .
I use 2016's out of most of my bows pulling 52# at my draw ... I just cut them shorter to spine right and that usually means a 200/220gn head out of Hill style longbows .
I find the 2016" more durable than the 2013 .

I shoot 2013's and 2014's off low to mid-40lb bows with a 125gr point. A 2013 has a deflection of 0.610 and a 1916 has a 0.623 deflection

i shoot a fluted 2012, the flute stiffens the shaft, very fast and forgiving, can shoot off a variety of bow weights, you don't see these around anymore !

Longbowz

Lon,

I use them with a 42lb. Wilson brothers Black Widow and with a 55lb. longbow.  I bought 3 dozen from John Hill, Hill Top archery.  He was getting rid of some of his lighter aluminum shafts so I bought everyone he had.

The lighter aluminums are getting tougher to find without ordering on line.  Carbon is nice but for me at least not as forgiving.
I find the older I get, the less I used to know!
