Cold Fingers

Hey guys I know when your hunting you can use mittens or hand warmers to keep fingers warm. Is there a good way to keep them warm when shooting alot of arrows like practicing or stump shooting. I find my accuracy drops way off when I need to check if my fingers are even there.

When stump shooting you are moving around alot so your body should keep itself warm.

If you shoot with a glove try using a lightweight leather work glove in colder weather.  I forgot my shooting glove once but had a pair of these gloves in my truck and I was surprised how nice it was shooting with one on.

On the practice range I tend to keep my practice to only 30 minutes or so when it's this cold.  If you're going to be out there a long time then keep some hand warmers in your pocket.  After each shot put your hand in your pocket until it's warmed up enough to shoot.

This will also make you take your time when shooting.

I shoot about every day outside. I use a hand muff.  Add heaters for more heat if needed.  I find it works better than pockets because you can rub your hands to help warm them.  I just put my bow under my arm or even hold it with my hand from in the muff.  When target shooting I hang the bow sometimes and other times with my small riser bows put the grip in my arm pit to keep it warmed up.

I went to K-Mart yesterday and bought a hand muff. $10.74! I have not had a need to use it just yet but I know it will come in handy.

I think that is the way to go.

I slip a merino wool liner in Thinsulate insulated Glomitts.  I keep my right hand & tab ready in an old fleece lined belt pouch that Bob Fratzke at Winona Camo used to make.

Second on the little handwarmers, I buy them in bulk and just keep one in my coat pocket when I shoot outside works great!

Get a pair of polypropylene glove liners and a pair of jersey gloves..If you shoot with a shooting glove just use the liners your shooting glove will go over them.I miss match gloves for the hunt Fingerless gloves w/liners for the shooting hand and a wool glove for the bow hand.Style and image dont mean didly in the woods.

i just let my fingers freeze. once they go numb , you dont worry about pinch anymore.
