Just wondering if any TG sponsors sell wool long underwear.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Yea..I think 3rivers sells the smartwool stuff.  That is the best long underwear I have ever found.  Great stuff.

These two done said it and said it well.

Ullfrotte is simply awesome stuff isn't it jon ! Never knew how bad my old military poly pro sucked till my first morning in my Ullfrotte wool. Best piece of clothing I own besides my Gray Wolf Woolens vest. Yes, you might cry a little spending the $$$ for it when you have to buy it.... but it will only be tears of joy after that !

NoCams said it, that is the best piece of clothing that I own BAR NONE!!  Been using it for 5+ years and it is phenominal and is everything that is advertised plus.  Durable, extremely warm, machine washable/non-shrinkable, and non-itch.  Spendy but it is the best there is and last I knew they supplied the US military too.  That is how they came to this country.  dino

What is a typical price?

I get a surplus catalog and they are showing new Italian wool long johns (lined) top and bottom set for like $29.95 or something.  In the picture they look about as heavy as a typical wool sweater which is pretty thick.  Don't know if they are merino or not but for that price I thought I'd try them out.  Looks like they are on  back order though.

Dave,
Ullfrotte' is the standard that all others are judged against for a reason. Thought about trying the Cabelas merino longjohns but the price diff is so close I am just going to stay with Ullfrotte'. If it ain't broke don't need fixin ! Give 3 Rivers a call and get the 400gr Ullfrotte' headed to Missouri Dave, it is a no brainer. You will thank everyone later this winter when you are toasty warm and not itching.

That stuff looks good and I was tempted but they don't make it in men's sizes........at least 3 Rivers doesn't carry it if they do.

Above IS a scientific fact:  the larger the animal the less relative surface area for heat radiation and resultant higher core body temperature retention.  This used to be talked about all time as to why elk disliked the hot weather and prefered it frosty cold

It's also the reason that Saskatchewan deer are bigger bodied than Texas deer.

No idea here, Dave.  I'm still using polypro and stayign away from campfires.    ;)

You really have to read the label to make sure its good wool. A lot stuff out there is advertised as wool but when you read the label its only a small percentage or recycled wool. Smartwool, Filson, Ullfrotte very good stuff.

Over the past few years I've been trying desperately to stay warm when hunting.  As a last resort, this year I bought the 200 Ullfrotte top & bottom and have been wondering if I wasted my money... until yesterday!  I wore it for the first time and was toasty warm all morning!  I think I've found the holy grail of longjohns!  Next year, I might get a 400 top to layer over it for the real cold days!
