What's the trick to get the writing off of this shaft? I have some GT 15/35's and nothing would get off all of the writing,(alcohol, acetone) Finally used sandpaper to get it all off. Hope MFX's are easier???

Why do you want to remove the writing?

GT's normally clean quite easily with acetone and 0000 steel wool.  The MFX's are a little harder to clean but the same combination will work.  Personally I like to leave the spine designation visible, especially with the variety you can find around the shop.

You can cover them up with some kind of cresting if you dont like the sight of them.

I use MEK, I don't know what it stands for, but it will take anything off. Strongest stuff I know of.  RW

Larry nailed it acetone and steel wool works fine, but on carbon express it is another story.

MEK is methyl, ethyl ketone. It is a solvent that has been around for a long time. It can do a lot of damage to various plastics and paints, so watch how you apply it.
