I had that happen last year. My dad saw him still alive the last day of rifle season so I'm still dreaming about him for this year... although he hasn't been seen yet.

Just to keep you all up to speed.  I have not spotted him since tuesday.  The action is pretty hot now and he might be on lockdown.  I have moved another camera over some scrapes around to try to catch him again.  I have set high on a hill just to watch for him for 2 days now.  I have seen some real nice bucks but not that compare to him.  He will be tough.  When he left that day he knew something was not right but only went a couple hundred yards and stopped.  I hope he wasnt too bugered and left for good.
