To strip factory camo paint or to not to....

Hello Everyone,
First off let me say that I am not a total newbie when it comes to traditional archery but I would definitly consider myself a greenhorn when it comes to this kind of stuff. I have done some searching on the topic but I still have a few questions.
Here is my situation.  I have a really nice Bear Kodiak Mag, its in good shape and shoots great. Only problem is that it is sprayed in factory camo. The paint is flaked off in a couple of areas and the bow appears from what I can tell to be the green future wood with the blue strip of the early-mid 70's.  A color/finish combo that I am quite fond of.   So here is where my questions begin.
What is the best way to remove the paint without removeing the factory clear under it? Assuming there is a way.
I am also assuming that since the decals are on the outside of the paint that there is not going to be any under the finish unless this was a bow sprayed to meet demand and not a factory second. Is there and can reprduction decals/markings that could be applied in the future if I ever wanted them back on the bow?   And my last question for the time being is one that I'm not to worried about since I don't ever plan to sell the bow. Will removeing the factory paint deface/devalue the bow at all?  
The specs and serial number on the bow is

KU66513 (raised silver coin)
AMO 52"

The only thing that I think would be an issue of rareity would be the 60lb draw weight. Haven't personally seen any of the type higher than 55lb and only one older 68' k-mag that was #58.

So I am looking for opinions and guidance in this lil dart slinger.

Look VERY closely at the silk screens. Every Bear factory camo bow I have looked at had a set of silkscreensunder the camo. You can usually see the raised emblems under the camo.

I stripped the camo off of a Super Kodiak to find a 67 hiding underneath with all the decals intact

That is good stuff. And it makes me want to remove the paint even more.  But what did you use to strip the paint off?  Acetone? paint thinner? mineral spirits?  Did it harm the original clear finish?

I will keep everyone posted on the progress of this lil project and will post some before, during, and after pics.

I have stripped onyl the riser, left the limbs camo,makes a beautiful end result.Saves any decals etc. on limbs.  Dick
