have seen the bows with the antler tips, really like the look.should have my longbow in a day or two.was wondering, can you have the antler tips added to your bow and finished or is that something that has to be done while its being built?just thought it would be neat to have antler from a buck my father had killed added to the limb tips.if its possible,do any of you guys know what something like that would probably cost to have done?its a Bear Montana longbow.
thanks,Ross

That is not a trivial job and will tie up your bow for longer than you think. Sooner or later you will likely want a custom bow from one of the many talented bowyers we have in our midst. At that time it is not a big deal to give them some antler and get your wish. JMHO

If you are crafty at all and have the right tools I think you could DIY it rather quickly.  Cut the pieces you want - Go thinner than you think.  Sand smooth and glue on with epoxy and a clamp.  Shape and smooth up.  Make sure the string grovess are very smooth or you will eat strings.  Finish with a rattle can of satin poly.

Save some more antler for the custom you will be ordering soon - trad bows are addictive and collecting them is inevitable.
