What a beautiful mourning,36 degrees, clear and just a slight up hill breeze. Sat for a bit more than 4 hours. Saw what I always see.........ZIPPO! AdkKen was up the mountain and saw 2 deer that winded him and 4 turkeys that hung up and didn't come close enough. Still a nice day to be out for a while, acorns still falling........

I finally got lucky and found some private property to hunt on. Didn't have time to set anything up so I just went in and stood by a tree, I kept scanning the area but not good enough, they came in and I didn't hear them at all. I had about a 25 yard shot but got busted from my slow movement by the one that already passed me.

Next week, up a tree I go. I should have known better today because there was no wind and hardly a breeze. There are some nice trees right by and I'll set one up during the week if possible.

I shot this one last night and didn't find it until this morning. I can't believe it made it through the night without the coyotes getting it. When I shot it I thought that it was I doe, I didn't know he had spikes until this morning.

Glad to see somebody connect up north. Congrats.

Way to go Rick! Lucky you recovered the whole deer. Those yotes and bears can make quick meal on a deer like that.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

I haven't seen too many deer the last few times out. It has been too warm and they must be moving more after dark. I have to move my tree stand maybe another fifty yards to the west of where I have it. The deer that I have seen, seem to be crossing the same knoll from all different directions.
A couple of nights ago, I did see a doe that seemed to be chasing her fawns off as if she might be getting ready to look for some attention from the boys. The rut might be just around the corner.
