It said that going to the woods and useing instinctive shooting is one of the most deadly weapons one can take to the woods? Wouldn't taking a gun be more deadlY. Just wondering other peoples thoughts??
There are many good moccasin tracks along the trail of a straight arrow: ( fox )

with good shot placement they both are just as deadly

Bjorn

Lots of weapons can be used instinctively, including a gun or grenade for that matter. What kind of weapon was the article referring to.

njloco

Well, I don't know about just as deadly, I guess the difference would be in the accuracy and distance, speed at which one can aim a firearm vs. a bow. The archer definitely has the edge as far as stealth when shooting, (no big boom).

Yekrut, you did say one of the most deadly weapons.

If (and this is a big if) you can shoot well that way. Not everyone can, nor should they feel compelled to.

Sounds to me as if the author was out of hunting stories and the editor was hammering him for an article... any article... just make the deadline!
