Where do you get your pants and what brand? I need a 46 32 pants and would like charcole grey or brown. Dickies has this size at a goiod price but they only come in black how do you feel about black pants for hunting? I would like to go as cheap as possible.

bretto

If You have a farm store near You check them out. Big Smith is another brand. Carhart are a little pricey but wear good and come in several colors.

Carharts seem to run a little small in their brown duck items so make sure You try them on.

Good luck, bretto

I will be glad to pay for them I would feel weird to take them at no charge.

Be sure and get your Carhartts bigger than you need.

The dang things shrink AT LEAST one size when you wash them.

I buy whatever cargo pants Old Navy has on sale.  I like the brown, gray, green, and they even sell the "old" woodland camo.  If you watch closely you can get them cheap and they are very comfortable...Mike

Don't overlook the moomoo. They come in a variety of camoflagish colors, and, best of all, you'll have the woods to yourself. Just make sure you wear something underneath. You don't want to get frostbit.

Hey, maybe we could all wear one.  You know, a Tradganger trademark. Of course, we'd have to wear one of Terry's leafy hats.  We wouldn't want to look ridiculous.

Two words, Tye dye. You'll have the best camo around! A buddy of mine does this every year, and it looks pretty awesome!

Army-Navy store, German wool pants I got some for $8 and they are not real heavy. Kind of a slate gray in color!! Nice and soft...silent!!

I got some great wool pants in 44x32 from Cabelas for Christmas.  Suspect they have the next size up as well.

Do you have a Norman's store you, or are they just a Michigan store? They would definitely have what you're looking for. Also, check out the Sportsman's guide.

I figure the Indians did just fine in buckskin, and well washed duck canvas comes real close in color. I agree that Carhartt is on the rich side, so I wear good 'ole Wally World Dickies camel brown duck carpenter pants with whatever natural color(usually gray) shirt I pick out of the closet. I think black will silhouette you just like the dark big name camo will. You can't skip on quality if you're looking for cold weather clothes though. 25 to a Texan is like -15 to you yankees, so we gear up in wool underwear, and Carhartt bibs with arctic lining. I know it's not KOM or Sleeping Indian, but Carhartt is highfalutin to us working rednecks.

I think you will like the Dickies. I wear the dark blue or black ones during September elk hunting before it gets to cold. After they have been washed a bunch they become real comfortable. I think they are far more durable than most cargo pants, and cheaper.

Take a couple old pairs of black jeans and throw them in the washing machine with a cup of bleach. Run them through a complete wash cycle with the bleach, then another complete wash cycle with clean water to give them a good rinse...

When you're done, You will have 2 pair of nice comfy "Dirt Brown" hunting jeans!!!

(Top it off with an "earth toned" 100% wool sweater from the GoodWill store and you're all set!!!)
I only shoot WOOD arrows... My kid makes them, fast as I can break them!
