Lets see if I stretch this out. Past couple of days in Cincinnati Ohio have been pretty nice for shooting. On a bow I just got was a Flemish twist string that looked to be professionally made. It stretched almost two inches in about an hour and a half of shooting. I twisted up a new string 56 inches for a 58" bow. It's stretched to the point the limbs where relaxed. I made an endless string almost the same results. What the heck is going on. The string I'm using is B50 it's only about a year old.

When you make a new string with B50 you have to stretch it in. I have a metal devise that I use to pre stretch all my strings I make so when a customer gets it or puts it on the bow it is ready and will not stretch. If you use fast flight or D97 it has less stretch. I have seen new strings stretch so much the bow it completely relaxed. I have even seen guys use a hook and weight at other end to stretch it. I hope this helped.

Not for sure but I think the string length was too long. Maybe  55" or 54".

for a 58" bow, you need to build your sting 54" at the longest.  If you're using B50, I will often take an additional inch or two off based on how many strands the strings is made of.  The more strands, the less stretching so the closer you can build to that 54" length... B50 really needs to be stretched quite a bit... I can build you a string if your interested.  PM if you have any questions!
God Bless,
Erik
