Hey, I am shooting a HH Wesley Special 70# @ 28", the brace height is 6.5" & my string is slapping me in the wrist right by my watch band.
I don't know what the reccomended brace height is & I don't feel that I am doing anything wrong because I am shooting better than ever & improving every day.

Thanks
Wesley

You might be gripping the bow to much which will cause you to bend your wrist. Try a lighter grip. I don't know about the brace height. Sorry and good luck!

My Hill WS is 70" long and braced at 7".  I believe that Craig recommends 1/8th inch decrease for every 2' shorter than 70'.  At any rate, I'd raise that brace of 6.5 to at least 6.75 and see where you are.  You describe classic low brace height wrist slap on a Hill.  Also be sure your nocks aren't too tight.

Oops I forgot, nock fit is very best

yep, If I were you I'd play around with my brace height around 6 3/4" plus or minus.

And that was Inches (") in my earlier post not feet (').

Not certain how long you've been shooting that bow but are you sure you're not putting to much heel into it vs side pressure. That was my problem for awhile. It doesn't feel comfortable at first but it certainly moves the wrist around.

Not quite sure what you mean by heel or side pressure? Please explain.

Make a V with your bow hand and insert the bow and let the back of the grip ride down the fat part of the base of the thumb and the palm and keep the bottom two fingers of the bow hand off the grip and relax the hand.Draw the bow back and let the pressure of the draw hold the bow steady.IMO

difference in the world, but the Marines don't have that problem.

Brace height should be 6.25" to 6.75". "If it don't bite your wrist, brace height is to high" (HH). Try to rotate the elbow of your bow arm to the outside and it won't bite you any more (learned from painfull experiences)

HAHA! Friggen thing is digging a hole in my wrist!!!
If I had your money I'd have 10 Widows LOL!
I shot tonight & just held the bow a little  tighter (but not real tight) & it was fine.

Raging Water

I have a Black Widow PSAX and a three Howard Hills. There ain't nuthin like a Hill, arm slap and all. You get tired of the Wesley let me know!

BTW, I use a Death Grip on my Hills. No slap, no hand shock.

Also, I can't hit the broad side of a barn either!
