Been messing with carbon arrows for more years than I care to remember.  Love the durability but was never satisfied with my arrow flight.  I changed length, point weight(even EFOC), brace height, etc. and never satisfied.  I killed several deer with carbons but tended to think the flight issues were due to my form.  The one good thing is it caused me to work on my back tension and overall form alot.

Well, shot a friends aluminums a few weeks back and loved them.  I ordered some 2018's and fletched them up......holy crap.  No flight issues at all.  Beautiful arrow flight from first arrow to last arrow.    :banghead:

I have been shooting bows for approx. 25 years and started with a recurve, went compound for awhile, and have been shooting longbows and recurves for the past 15.  I started with aluminum, have shot some wood, and am now back.  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess that the carbons just weren't for me.  I know that lots of you fellas shoot them perfectly, that's awesome.  Me, not so much.  I can't tell you how nice it is to have the perfect arrow flight back.....and heck am I shooting well.    :goldtooth:

Great!! always feels good to get the "perfect" flight.

Well....I thought you had found your way back to woodies!  ;) .  Don't worry, maybe you'll get all the way back home yet   :biglaugh: . Yeah, aluminums do fly good without all the tinkering.  I like them too.....Dave

He he, yep, one day david I will come truly home.  I have some surewoods at the house that I haven't tried yet.  It is one of the trial packs.  I am excited about those too.  I am just relieved to be done with the frustration.  Sometimes we're our own worst enemy.

Like my grandmother used to say... "The more you stir the s**t, the more is stinks!" I too started this trad business with aluminum arrows, then carbon and woodies. Right now I can't get enough 2016's! Works For Me. Simple!

2016s shoot out of everything I have.  They are a great shaft  :archer2: .

Bret,

I returned to aluminum after turkey season and don't know if I will shoot anything else if I can get my 2315's.

Tried Carbon off and on for a few years now. Struggled with flight issues same as you. Maybe my heart was not in it.

Always have had wood arrows around, just like making them and they shoot just fine.

My hunting arrows are aluminum, I just have good luck with the flight.
2016, 2018, and 2020's depending on the bow.

Those 2020's are tougher than woodpecker lips.
