Howdy, Just received a Bear Super Mag 48 today that I bought on e-bay. It is in great shape, can't wait to shoot it, but the string that came with it give a brace of about 9 1/2 inches that seem awful high to me. I know the sweet spot is the correct brace but can some of you give me a "ball park" to start at?
Also it was made in Grayling Mich. and the serial #'s are  KX10861. Could someone tell me what year it was made??     Thanks in advance for any help!!    Hawk2

My '68 Super Mag shoots really nice at 8.75",although I've seen them braced at 9+".I believe yours was made in the early 70's

I have one #kx12471, anywhere between 8 3/4and 9 1/4 shoots well. 8 1/2 shoots fine but with an increase in noise.
