I'm always tinkering w/ my broadheads, arrows and archery equipment. Ask my wife.

I also really enjoy doing habitat improvements and scouting/blind building. I've been doing so once a week since snowmelt. I enjoy it at least as much as the actual hunting season, if not more.

Shooting a deer is easy. Selecting the perfect spot and making the perfect setup is the hard part.

The only thing I don't care for is broadhead sharpening. I have a hangup that a head should be razor sharp out of the box. To me, it's like buying a brand new truck off the lot, but then having to paint it at home. My .02.

Though I still make replacement stuff when it becomes necessary, I don't particularly enjoy it; not like I once did.  I no longer enjoy the shooting all that much but do practice enough to maintain my skill.  Same with flintlock shooting.
Hunting partner of 18 years, passed away last year.  Huntin' Grizz just wasn't quite the same this Spring.  Expect Moose/Caribou camp will loose a bit of its luster this Fall.
Please do not misunderstand, am not feeling sorry for myself.  Just seems to be the way things are, getting old and living the isolated life style I have chosen for my remaining years.  I look forward to getting up every morning and enjoying whatever the day may bring; be it rain, snow or sunshine.
Think I will finish my morning coffee and string up the longbow.  It is good to be alive in this wonderful land.
Best Wishes

I prefer the whole package! Hunting, Shooting, Tinkering with my equipment.

Score one for the US Postal Service. "Killdeer" rocks.

I love all of it, but hunting the most. To me, it's all preparation for hunting, and trying to get the most out of your equipment so that there's no excuses when the moment of truth comes around
I love trying to get the best performance out of my equipment, and especially building arrows that will be dependable and consistent in any conditions  ;)  I even built a precision shooting machine I'm going to use when tuning time comes around.

I do most of my foreplay in the winter when hunting season is over and "baby, it's cold outside".
Once 3-d & hunting season starts i'm set and ready to go.
