Hey guys, one more quick one for ya.

What would look good in a riser with Bocote limbs? Or vice versa?

I was thinking Bocote limbs with a Cocobolo and Gray something riser.

Or would Bocote limbs with just a Coco riser look okay?

Thanks!

Tree Killer

My Blacktail has Bocote limbs, with a Bocote riser footed with Cocobollo. I like it!

Cocobolo was made to compliment Bocote! Nothing looks better to my eye than that combo.

That said, Bocote & Osage compliment each other, almost as well.

Wow Rob, nice lookin bow!

My current thinking is to do bocote limbs with a coco riser and see if I could do either a bocote saddle or a bocote accent stripe down the middle with some charcoal gray out lining it... if he can.

Okay, it's gonna be a 58" Lost Creek longbow, Bocote limbs, Cocobolo Riser with a Bocote stripe through the middle of the riser accented with a strip of maple on each side. Maple cores to help match up the riser. Shooting for 50-55#'s at 28 in. so call it 53. It'll have my name on it too. Tree Killer's bow is the one that put me over on the Coco.

Enjoyed talking to Chad about it too, very down to earth guy. He's gonna send me pics while he's building it too...

I have bows with Bocote/Osage, Bocote/Cocobolo, Bocote/Red Elm, and Bocote/Bocote.  It goes well with everything!

COLongbow

You are gonna love it.
My LC is a very sweet-shooting bow. Draw feels a good 5# lighter than it is, and smoooth. Very forgiving of arrow spine, and fast with a heavy arrow. Not to mention beautiful. Chad's a great guy and craftsmanship is top notch.

Sounds like your wood choices will be eye-poppin'!
Hope the wait is not too long.

He said he thinks he might be able to get it sent out next Friday.   :bigsmyl:  The way I've heard his bows shoot, even a plain jane maple bow would be a real jewel.

Keith, your right, Bocote is IMO the most beautiful wood known to man. That's why I had to have it. It's great camo too...

I love Bocote with Cocobolo, but I also like Bocote with Ziricote.  Below is a pic of  my Marriah Thermal with that combo in the riser and Yew limbs.

I have a Cocobolo riser with osage limbs on my PSA Widow.  I have been thinking of another set of limbs with bocote.  After these pictures, I may be placing another order.
