Howard Hill quiver

I was looking for thoughts on a Hill quiver, I see Howard Hill archery has two kinds a Heavy and a thin one. I was wondering what type Howard carried for hunting and if anyone owns one of the heavy ones that has broken in good. I don't want to be carrying my arrows in a quiver that is like a piece of pipe    But i want one like Howard's.

I have one of the heavy ones, thought i ordered a soft one but it will hold a dozen arrows and standup on its own.  I prefer it, because since I started breaking it in it's molding to me nicely.

mine is the heavy one it is only 35 years old and sitll going strong  and just given to my son who hopefully will use it for another 35 years.

If you don't mind spending a little extra, the ones made by Nate Steen, aka Sunset Hill, are the best I have seen - proper weight leather, proper design, and top notch quality. He also supplies a matching armguard with each quiver. I love mine!

I prefer the heavy leather quiver . Nigh on indestructible and once broken in they work beautifully. However , the lighter leather also work great, its just a matter of preference i think .I must check out Nate's version though.

Wow Ken, those are nice looking quivers now you got me thinking.

I have several and have made some. Mine are mostly medium weight, but I have one heavy that came with a bow that I bought.  The heavy weight is noticeably stiffer, and heavier. Hill used a light weight leather most of the time, the one time I saw him shoot, it looked like he had a medium. The arrows will be quieter in the light or medium.

David Miller also makes a very nice quiver. I believe he uses 8to10 ounce leather. I think the price is 144.00. Check out his website.
