equal arrows?

HI all, shooting a 50# howard hill cheetah, longbow and love it.  I shoot cedars out of it, and x7 2014's.  Been thinking of maybe different aluminum or carbon arrows, but don't have alot of money to go around trying different ones, so I figure I would go to the brotherhood and see what you all think.  Is the Carbon express arrows worth it?  They better than the X7s?  thanks.

Well the  Carbon Express are not necessarily better than your aluminums.  They are definately stronger.  It all depends. You have to try some to see if you like them. The only difference is you will probably have to weight down the tip to get the carbons to fly good, because they are a lot lighter than aluminums. It will take a little bit more fine tuning. Try looking up Stu Millers Dynamic Spine Calculator, it will help you match spine of your bow to arrows.

In my opinion Easton and Carbon Express make great arrows and are by far the best, or should I say only carbon mfgr's that batch arrows that match their advertised spines and weights.

I have never shot wood, but carbon durability is great.  Big Jim usually has good prices on carbons...

Tough question.  Are the CX better that the X7?

A change is in your near future, X7's are no longer listed on Easton's website.  You will find the X7 Cobalt Target shaft, but not in 2014.

Are the CX shafts worth the money? Yes.  You can find them in various spine wts.  The Heritage line now come in 75, 90, 150, 250, 350.  A less expensive CX would be the CX Predator II's.

You'll find alot to choose from.

I shoot CX Heritage 150s, 250s & Maxima 250s. Love them all. Like stated they are durable so in the long run they are cheaper. Good luck.

I shoot CX Heritage 90's out of my 55#@27 HH Halfbreed.I personally like CX Heritage,I can get the lighter spines and get enough physical weight for my Hill's.The CX 90 I custom made a 50 gr. brass insert now 42 grs. and with a 175 gr. point gives me a 540 gr. arrow that flys just beautiful.CX are good quality carbon arrows,consistent in weight and spine.I have had good quality in Easton and Beman arrows too.

If I'm not shooting wood (rarely) I like CX heritage. Depending on your draw length, a 90 or 150. They're very tough, not REAL expensive.

3R has a good price on their Trad Only carbons right now, a 500 would probably do ya.
