I have a Fox High Sierra 3 piece recurve and it generates a little "tick" sound just before full draw.   Happens every time.  I have adjusted the limb bolts, removed the tip protector - no change.  The "tick" happens at around 27" inches of draw, I draw 28".   New FF string - about 50 shots on string.   I can see no damage to the limbs - sound seems to come from the lower limb.   Bow shoots very well.    Sound is not very loud, be does concern me.  Thinking string. Any ideas?

Mel,

It's probably the string loop on the bottom limb.  Put your old string back on and try it.

Irish,

Try a thin coat of wax between the limb and riser. I have had this issue with a couple bows and that fixed it for me.

It's that new PCH of yours, tutting at you for ignoring it!

I had velcro "loops" for limb pads. I've had the adhesive "unstick" at about the same point of draw you're describing. Surprisingly loud when it happened.

check the lower limb for wax left over from the new string.  When I get a new string I take it off after a couple hundred shots and clean the bow limbs good.  There is always a bit of wax left in the grooves and this has the potential for noise on the draw...Mike

I had a similar issue with a 3-pc awhile back.  Turned out to be one of the locator pins rubbing the limb as it started to flex when I was coming back to my 30" draw.
