Howdy,
Recieved my new to me Morrison last week and I need some help with wood spine.  The bow is a 58" recurve, A riser C limbs (actionboo).  59# @ 28".  Sbd skinny string.  I draw 28" and shoot a 145 grain head.
Thanks

Danny Rowan

go up one spine=60/65, add 5# for center shot=65/70 spine, add 5# for modern string=70/75 spine. If your arrow is over 28", add 5# spine for every inch over 28", if you use a heavier head, add 5# spine. So right now, assuming your arrow is 29" bop you should be at 75/80 spine. I would bet that is the spine you need. You may need 80/85, but you have a good starting point.

I have a 60" Morrison recurve,50# @ 29". I draw 29", my arrows are 60-65 cedars 125 gr up front and my arrows are 31" long. This works for me very well!

Danny nailed it...only thing I'd chime in is that Bob told me he cuts the recurve riser 3/16 PAST CENTER. (that's been a few years--maybe he changed?)

That means even STIFFER requirements than center. I shimmed mine out to center and found tuning easier.
