Flemish string is the design, fast flight is the material.  You can get a fast flight flemish string.  Basically, fast flight doesn't stretch and gives you a little more speed out of the bow.

I just bought a new bow and changed to a 12 strand  D-97 string.  I had to step up to a 500 spine arrow from a 600 spine arrow just with the string change. Bow shoots harder and is alot quieter also.  This is my first experience with  fast flight type strings, and I'm a believer. Oliverstacy (Josh Sowerby) built my string and I would highly recommend his strings.  He is listed in the classifieds.

The gain is a little bit of speed...the drawback is that they are louder in general than dacron..I like fastflite on longbows and dacron on recurves
