Hi everybody

I just bought an hoyt gamemaster II, #50.I draw 29.5" so my draw is around 53-55 lb. I bought some aluminum 2117 arrows cut to 30.5" with 125 gr.

what do you think ??

I think you will need a lot more point weight up front to get them tuned but it can be done. You can get 100 gr brass inserts to fit the 2117's if you want to stay with the 125 gr heads or go to heavier heads. The 2117's will work but with more front end weight and that's a good thing.

ok,
so if I use my Beman ICS 500 with 125 gr., it should be right ?

With a FF string they will probably be weak.  Ok with a B-50.

Do a search for Stu Miller's calculator.  Then you can play with many options.  H

The 500's should be close with 125's.The calculator would help a lot.I have some 2016's which are 500 spine and they liked 145 gr heads with my 53# recurve. Each bow and each shooter may be different so you just have to experiment a little. The easiest way to do that is to get an assortment of field tips,125 and heavier and see which gives the best flight. It's nice to be able to use what you already have but sometimes you just have to change something to get the best arrow flight.Oh,and 2117's are app. 400 spine. That's why they should need more point weight.

Ok

I will do more test during the weekend

I know what the charts say but I can shoot 2117s with 125 gr points and 29" long very well out of a 50# bow.  Give it a try.

54# center cut bow drawn 29.5" with 30.5 arrow 125 gr point.

I'm betting 2117 too weak 2216 better.

Only possible variance is actual bow weight verses marked bow weight.

i would say you need a 145 grain tip.if that doesn't work i would go heavier tip.

I have the same draw as you and use the same arrow setup as you but with a 60#@28" Martin Hunter. I have tried the arrows through a 55# bow as well. If they are stiff it is hardly noticable. Hardly noticable is not excact so I would try a heavier tip or inserts. A little testing with different tips is probably all you need.

I did some test yesterday ..

I took the arrows I use for my #40 longbow: My Beman 500 ICS ,cut to 30", with 125gr. seems to fly very well out of my Gamemaster.
