I've been shootin' on the ground getting ready for turkey season and can hit well out to about 12-15 yds.  As I have shot a few different spine arrows, I have noticed that 500 Carbons with 150 up front are pretty fast and flat shooting... and accurate.  Aluminum 2117 with 200 up front are a little less and 2016's with 125 hit with the 500's.  I also shoot 400's with 200 with good results.  AND I have shot some nice woodies that really don't quite group up for me all too well.  Ultimately I need to get a doz arrows and need a little help making the final decision...

The bow is a Howatt Hunter 62 AMO, 50# (but feels heavier).  Brace Height is 8.25", shooting 12 strand flemish dacron string, spider silencers.  Arrows are cut differently... 2117's are 28.5", 2016 is 28", 500's are 29", 400's are 29".  I am leaning towards the Easton Epic 500's with 150 grs up front.  What do you guys think??  Ultimately I am looking for penetration on deer, but accuracy is key here.  Thoughts?

First and foremost use what shoots well for you. I love carbon because of the strength, and they happen to fly beautifully for me.

I invested in some AD Trads. They cost a bit more but have wonderful advantages (like the tapered shaft) and I can't break one for the life of me (God knows I try).

What is your actual draw length?  Some of your arrows are cut to 28, so draw is something less than that?

I'm not a "best arrow" guru, and can't tell you which of your options is best for you. But the most important factor is perfect arrow flight (no wobbles). Beyond that I prefer a heavier arrow over a lighter one.

I am gravitating towards the carbon 500's, its just that they will be in the 450 range made up.  I am sure that is enough to kill deer and turkeys with a good broadhead and accurate shot.  That said I would like to be in the 500-550 range...
