I contacted 3Rivers Archery about adding weight to my arrows.

2018's:
They said that for 2018's they don't have the brass inserts in my size and the PDP weights do not work with the existing RPS Inserts in my 2018's. How can I add about 50 grains so I can use my existing broadheads?

5575's:
I have a 20 gr. weight installed by a bowshop behind the existing insert in my 5575's. I need another 100 grains, if possible. The brass inserts they sell aren't threaded. If I put in a 100 gr. brass insert, how do I keep the 20 gr. weight too? Should I have the bowshop deal with it?

3Rivers and Kustom King sell PDP Adjustable converta point inserts for a 2018 and a few other sizes. These inserts will accept PDP or GT add on weights behind the insert, they are threaded just like most 5/16" carbon inserts to accept add-on weights.3Rivers calls them special inserts and Kustom king calls them adjustable converta point insert, they are both made by PDP.They sell a 10 gr. adpater for the PDP weights, but I have used GT weights withou using the adapter. The insert has 8/32 thread the same as points have.

That takes care of the 2018's. Thanks! Any advice on the best way to handle the 5575's?

for the brass insert, drill the back of the insert, thread it and screw in some threaded steel stock with JB weld to keep it in place in the threads.  You can cut the threaded rod to the length you need to get the weight you want.

You can also drill and tap for PDP wieght system.

I also found that GT sells weights that screw into my arrows (thx JRY309). But, I'd have to add two 50 gr. weights. And get their weight wrench. I remember the guy at the bow shop used one to insert my 20 gr. weights.

I do have a tap set.   :)

Excellent! I ordered the parts for my 2018's, now to think about all you guys have said for my 5575's. I'm gonna need a broadhead target soon.  :)

Frank, just so you know, you can modify the 100 gr. brass inserts for 2016's to fit the 2018's with very little trouble.Screw a field point into the brass insert.Chuck the field point in to a drill press or drill.Use a file on the shank of the brass insert while it is spinning to reduce it's diameter. It only takes a little bit.I can't remember how much weight it takes off before it fits into the 2018 but it is less than 10 grs.Something like 6 grs,I believe.

Good info. Thanks. I think you mentioned that before. As a newbie, I didn't want to get too much into custom solutions so this time I opted for the easy out. The 5575's might be another thing though. LOL
