JD used to have a website that had tutorials on it and one of the tutes was for a golf club wrap on a self bow.  Does anyone know the address for his tutorial site?  Or instructions for the wrap?

It may take a while for J.D. to get back to you but he will.  Basically he skivs Latigo leather, trims it to make it narrow on sides thick in center, then glues it on by wrapping and pressing the sides down.  He has given demonstrations at MOJAM.

Here is what it looks like after he bevels the edges on the sander.

I like using a specialty leather crafting tool called a "skiver" instead of the belt sander - much safer for your fingers. Also, the angle cut shown in the above picture should be the same direction on both ends of the leather strip. Not as shown going opposite directions.

Shaun, fingers are not involved if you use the rubber belt cleaner     :)     Also the skive tool is nice if you have leather in the 9-12oz range, otherwise its useless, and yes you do want both ends tapered the same as the picture shows   ;)      Cody, I'll send you a cd of the process

Thanks JD,
You showed me the process at MOJAM a couple years ago, I just like to get a refresher since I havent done it in a while.  Plus there was a ton of good information on your site.
