Great answer. That about sums it up for me to. Since going to Trad my whole outlook on hunting has changed. It's no longer about how many animals or how big the trophy is. It's all about the journey it takes to get to the point of dropping the string on an animal. Sometimes you release, sometimes you just simply walk away with the arrow still on the string. Yet no matter what the outcome the trip is still as memorable as the last.
"A hunt based only on trophies taken falls short of what the ultimate goal should be ... time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and the fish that live there."

Traditional archery has brought me much closer as in a hunter/bow relationship. I don't feel dettached and actually when feeling the shot there is a oneness.

One analogy is the genuine feeling of gratification due to the success of significant accomplishment of which you happened to be the main contributor.

Traditional archery has welcomed me into the greatest family of whom I am proud to call brothers.

GREASEMAN

Traditional Archery ignites the fire within to seek out adventure in the Wilderness or the Wood lot.

Traditional archery is something that teaches you to work hard before you can savor the reward. It is something that is no longer a sport or past time but becomes a way of life.

The smell of cedar shafts being made. The smell of feathers being burned. The feel of a recurve or longbow string stretched in my fingers on a frosty morning as I hear faint foot steps headed my way. Enjoying every shot I take now matter what it is at. Using my God given ability instead of a machines. These are some of the things that make traditional archey to me. There are tons others these are some that impress me the most.

Traditional Archery is an attitude.
An attitude towards life. A darn good attitude.
I search for it in other areas of my life and struggle to find it.
 :campfire:
Find it outdoors alone and here daily.
Been There, Done That, Still Plowin.
Cane and Magnolia tend to make good arrow.
Hike naked in the backwoods.

one word for me to describe trad archery :"simplisity".

trad archery is a colage of many different styles of archery's history and cultures that made equiptment for hunting and warfare with the best technology they had or could invent .trad archery is a generic term : like i drive a car.

ofcource this is my perspective
form is everything! shoot well shoot hard.

Mind body and soul, one with the bow, arrow, target.
Something I can always go back to for relaxation, excitement, or both.
Something to work at, on and pass along.
Timeless.
In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, 'Au revoir, gopher'.

Traditional archery and traditional bowhunting are two different categories to me.

Traditional archery to me is stick and string off the shelf instinctive shooting with finger release. I don't care what your bow or arrows are made of.

Traditional bowhunting is hard for me to define due to the morality and ethics I affiliate with it. Ultimately, to me it is stick and string, preferably on the ground, taking game at 25 yards or closer.
