noise on limbs

when I shoot I am hearing a sort of snap, when I let go of the string, an i thnk its the string hitting the inside of the top of my limb, its a recurve , should I put some sort of material in bettween , near the inside string grooves? help need it more quite!!!! thanks

You can put some mole skin there where the string contacts the limbs,3Rivers sells some that is already cut out for there.I like to use Bow Hush on my recurves,you wrap this around your string where the string contacts the limbs.

ok hey , thanks. I will give it a try. My other bow doese not make that sound , but this one doese. Is that common on some recurves??

check your brace height.  I have noticed I can get a snap when breaking in a new string and it stretches

Ok should I leave it strung awhile so the string streches a little and then check brace height? It is a newer string that I have only had for awhile?

Leaving it strung is fine. It could be string slap on the limbs and as mentioned mole skin or Bowhush will fix that. Also could be the arrow hitting the shelf. Check for wear on the finish and/or arrow. Nock point might need to be adjusted to correct that.
So lots of options to play with between silencers, brace height and nock point. But most can be quieted very well.
