too stiff or too weak?

I have a set of 29" cedar arrows spined at 40/45 #. They hit where pointed, but the fletching end kicks to the right. Is the spine too stiff or too weak? I asked several guys and nobody could remember for sure. They do this with both 120 & 145 grain points, so there could be some "operator error" at work. I am shooting them out of a 40# @ 28" draw Howard Hill Cheetah. The nocks don't seem to be too tight on the string - loose if anything.I draw a tad over 27". Thanks.

If you are right handed a right kick means stiff and weak if you are a lefty.  This is not fool proof but that is usually the way it is.

Sam, how far from the target? Are you using ff string? My early guess would be they might be a tad weak.

I am about 15 yards from target. Not using ff. I tried some 45/50's and they seemed to go left.

That should be far enough to allow the arrow ample time to correct itself. With the point wt you are using and your draw length I would say you are close if not on the money spine wise.
Now just play around with point wt. start with a 100 and work thru up to 200+.
I think you'll find the answer.
Just remember that target bags and form issues can cause an arrow to seem like they are kicking right or left.
Try shooting cock feather in.

RH nock right-stiff, nock left-weak.  Opposite for LH.  If you're noticing this with a fletched arrow it's the first direction that the nock goes not necessarily the direction it is when it hits the target.  A stiff fletched arrow will over correct and show you nock left at some distances.
